1. Zippo Talent Award
"And the winners are":
In the Zippo Flaming Talents Award, 4 bands overcame the merciless jury:
Hollywood Porn Stars (B)
Klein (D)
The Miracle Cure (GB)
Utah (DK)
Well over 600 international entrants are proof of the big interest in this unusual but promising contest. In winning last year's contest, Daniel Benjamin stepped up onto the stage of a wider audience and Zippo and Haldern Pop disclosed an exciting musical secret from the Black Forest, who with a little patience will soon also be heard in Cadiz and New Jersey.
All four bands will play in the Mirror Tent. Details can be found in the festival magazine "Datt Blatt" and online at www.haldern-pop.de
2. Cancelations and confirmations
Cancellations:
It pains us all that the High Dials (CAN) and the charming Anna Ternheim (S) have cancelled. But we look optimistically ahead and look forward to very acceptable alternatives...
Newly confirmed:
Mumm-Ra (GB)
Jetting in direct from Fujiyama to Haldern: The band from the sleepy south english Bexhill-on-Sea, draw their inspiration from the luxurious beauty of older Beach Boys' songs, the Kinkyness of the Kinks, and younger classic bands like The Beta Band and Sigur Ros. Totally hot shit, if we are to believe our British advisors.
Daniel Benjamin (D)
The eternally boyish Stuttgarter has been enchanting a rapidly growing international following for a few years with partly thoughtful, partly raw songs, played solo and with band. Before a major label could snap him up, Haldern Pop Recordings secured his signature and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.
Double Vinyl released on the 4th August!

3. Running order
The complete line-up including performance times on the stage and in the mirror tent can be found here.
4. Hygiene Camp
Freshness around the clock: the Hygiene Camp.
Haldern 2006 has come up with a totally new dimension in personal Hygiene: besides the classic toilets, there will also be offered that little bit extra for body freshness. The Shower tent comes with separate male and female "wash-rooms" with 36 hot showers for EUR 1.50 per person. Cleanliness freaks will look forward to the toilet containers with water flushing: per sitting EUR 0.50
Every euro there is well invested, because the cleaning personnel are there for you around the clock.
5. Baggage porter!
Don't be scared: when you arrive, there will be a gigantic rail construction machine blocking the Haldern railway crossing. The Diebels Brewery will therefore be providing a luggage shuttle service from the Haldern/Rheinland train station, on Thursday between 1pm and 6pm and on Friday between 10am and 3pm. It will carry the luggage of arriving train passengers at regular intervals to the Diebels Grill stand at the festival site. As receipt for the luggage, the happy walkers will receive a cool, numbered bottle of Diebels. This will make the detour caused by the construction site a little bit sweeter.
6. Ticket Market
Although there are no more tickets left at the box office, there are sometimes bargain offers in our ticket market forum.
